This year we provided some Art deco wedding photography midland hotel yes at that fantastic OLDE WORLD venue again on a warm summers day in July. I started at Sarah’s parents home in Lancaster along with her 3 bridesmaids and my ex. brides; Danielle (Langdale Chase hotel ’10), Sarah (Monk Coniston ’13) and her lovely sister Nicola (Elms hotel, Morecambe ’07) The wedding ceremony was held at Lancaster FM church Free methodist church on Queen street where Sarah was a Minister and only 10 minutes drive from her parent’s home near the University. Pete is originally from Fleetwood further south down the coast where the happy couple will make their home.
The picture below was captured outside The Orient Express restaurant in Lancaster (closed since ’95) and I had the notion that it might make a good background, well Sarah and Pete chose it 3 times to go into there album which is good 🙂 We parked at PC World and managed a few shots with the Canon 15mm fisheye lens and I just love how Sarah is holding her dress in the alcove. Sarah and Pete invited 100 guests during the day and 150 attended her night do.
Dress is by Phase Eight. Flowers by a florist friend called Sam Godfrey, table centre pieces were hand made from drift wood by local artist Emma Hamilton. Sarah picked the wild flowers and made jam jar decorations with her mum Janine who also made the cake amongst many other things!
Art Deco history go hand in hand at The Midland hotel originally opened in 1871 when The Midland Railway took over the North western Railway line and during the 1980’s was used for an episode for ‘Poirot’ in the episode Double Sin. Also famous actors such as Coco Chanel, Sir Laurence Olivier and Noel Coward have all stayed at The Midland hotel whilst performing at The Winter Gardens. Art deco wedding photography midland hotel is just one of my photographic specialisms.
